About the institution
The University of Southampton is a Russell Group university and prides itself on its high ranking for research quality. It conducts research into issues such as treatments for cancer and Alzheimer’s disease and sustainable power. It has around 23,000 students spread across seven campuses – five in Southampton, one in Winchester and a new campus in Malaysia. Its sports facilities include a dry ski slope and a watersports centre and the professional Nuffield Theatre is based on its main Highfield campus in Southampton.
