"There are adequate clubs but not enough pubs and bars in the area."
"There are several pubs and clubs in the town centre and the students' union organises an 'Insane Tuesday' night every week for students to chill out and dance. The students' union and Pavilion also provide daily pub services where students can drink alcohol, watch TV and play pool."
"There are a lot of different clubs to go to but also places to go if you don't want to go for a night out such as the cinema or bowling alley."
"The students' union is open on Tuesdays with cheap drinks as well as a few clubs and pubs around town."
"I didn't really go out clubbing a lot. The university puts on an event called 'Insane Tuesdays' every week and they had different events. I've been to a couple of clubs in town and the atmosphere was great. The pubs are nice and some have karaoke, open mic nights, sport events on the TV, amazing food and reasonable drink prices."
"The best place to go to for clubbing is Balloon bar, which often brings in celebrities, performers or themed parties. I have made some of my best memories there. Wednesdays and Fridays are student nights so you get in for free. NB's is another popular spot, although there are also many older locals who go there. Wetherspoon's is the most preferred pub and is good for pre-drinks."

"We have a cinema as well as pubs and clubs to go and have a drink. There are also some coffee places as well but they close quite early."
"Clubs, cinema, bowling, gym, pubs and so on."
"There are a few clubs and pubs, where you can get relatively cheap drinks."
"There's a shopping centre that has very decent shops and there's good transportation round here. There are a few clubs and restaurants in town that are quite nice. There's always something to do and explore. I like Northampton more than I thought I would."
"You can go to the cinema, restaurants, bowling and clubbing."
"There are lots of shops and nice places to eat."
"It's okay for a town but doesn't compare to a larger city."
"The nightlife here isn't the best as there aren't many places due to the size, but what we have is OK. It's a lot better on student nights (Wednesdays) as that is when all the sports teams are out and there are lots of people."
