University of Essex
Please let us know whether you think your university does enough to attract and cater for students from a diverse range of backgrounds?
"Diversity is definitely one of Essex's strengths as there are so many international students. I do think there could be more northern English students though."
"The university fully supports students from different cultural backgrounds, religions and sexual orientations. I have never seen or felt discrimination towards anyone."
"Our students' union has a sabbatical officer who tries to help international students feel at home while they study at university. The campus is so diverse it is impossible to not interact with someone who is from a different background to you. All of the different nationalities at Essex have their own society where they can meet people from similar backgrounds."
"There's a celebration of major festivals and the uni provides a variety of societies and food."
"It's very international so there are lots of international events to help with integration."
"There are few students from a working class or poor background and those who do get in can have a pretty difficult time."
