Clubs and social environment

Please tell us more about the social environment, sports clubs and societies and anything else you think candidates need to know about life at your university.

"The sports park is incredible."
"There are societies for anything and everything and the uni loves new ideas. We sometimes get stick for being too politically correct but I think it's actually a great environment to be in where there's such an emphasis on and respect for equality and diversity."
"Sport plays a big role on campus. Each team is respected and appreciated, especially on derby day."
"There are tons of activities to suit everyone, from rock climbing to Zumba classes at the sports park!"
"The social environment is very friendly but the village is a bit boring. If you want more excitement I would suggest opting for campus accommodation. There are lots of sports clubs but you have to pay for a gym membership and it's really expensive. I haven't got £200 to spend on a gym membership. Beware of that because I know some unis have free gyms."
"There is a good range of different societies at this university."

"There's a very friendly atmosphere where it's really easy to meet new people, get involved and make friends for life. There's a huge range of sports clubs and societies to get involved in and, if there isn't one you're looking for, you can set it up."
"We have lots of societies for everyone! Cambridge University Officer Training Corps is especially good."
"The university has lots of sports clubs and societies; there's something for everyone. Membership fees are usually reasonable and we have a good gym that's very modern. There's always something going on."
"I think the societies should offer more activities and be more proactive."
"Numerous sport clubs and societies are available. There are very good options for students from different backgrounds and it's a very supportive environment."
"There's a fantastic social environment and lots of friendly people as well as many sports clubs, although they can be very competitive so are not always for beginners. There are many other societies for hobbies and, if there is a society you'd like that isn't available, it's easy to set up your own."
"We have a wide variety of clubs and societies."
"There are so many clubs and societies to choose from and the university is starting to have an increased focus on sports clubs. There's more funding and a really optimistic outlook overall. Also, our sports park has fantastic facilities."
"There are loads of sports clubs and societies to join as well as many other opportunities."
"There are loads of societies and sports clubs to fit all interests."
