Clubs and social environment

Please tell us more about the social environment, sports clubs and societies and anything else you think candidates need to know about life at your university.

2016

"There's a good range of sports clubs here."
"There is something for everyone and it's simple and easy to create a society if you want one that isn't already set up. The sports teams become like your second family if you join!"
"Many sports societies as UCLan specialises in sport."
"There are lots of projects that you can get involved in and volunteer for to get experience. These include the uni newspaper and the Green Ladder project (helping UCLan be more green). Preston is well placed if you want to visit the UK as it's halfway between London and Edinburgh. There's also 'Give It a Go', which organises activities (ice-skating) and day trips to the Lake District and Liverpool etc. There are lots of sports from netball and zumba to martial arts and archery."
"There are lots of sporting events and clubs available to attend."
"Each course has plenty of clubs to join and there's a mentor/buddy service for those struggling with socialising. The on-campus gym also offers classes like zumba and the town has a variety of bars and clubs and decent shops for a bit of daytime retail therapy."
"There is so much to get involved in here that I found it hard to choose which ones to do. I wish I could have had more time to get involved in more!"
