About the institution
Queen Margaret University was formerly the Edinburgh School of Cookery. Today it still focuses on providing vocational courses, but now covers areas of health sciences, management, performing arts, and psychology and sociology. It is based on the east side of Edinburgh, by the coastal town of Musselburgh – its new campus was opened in 2007. Famous alumni from the university’s school of media, communication and performing arts include TV presenter Matt Baker and actor Kevin McKidd (Grey’s Anatomy).
