Clubs and social environment
Please tell us more about the social environment, sports clubs and societies and anything else you think candidates need to know about life at your university.
"Sports clubs tend to be restricted and only let you join a team if you join the university gym, which I think is unfair. As I am living away from the university I chose to join my local gym, which is more convenient for myself. This meant I was excluded from joining a sports society. The university gym is quite small and lacking equipment, I've heard it's also very busy."
"There's no pressure to be in everything but, at the same time, you will have no problems finding somewhere to fit in if that's what you're after."
"There's a variety of societies and I would highly recommend joining one if you can find one you are interested in."
"The university offers loads of different societies for students to attend. A couple of my favourites are the Harry Potter and rock societies."
"The university offers a range of clubs and societies to join. I was a member of the sub-aqua, tchoukball and squash societies and they were all great. However, the swimming pool is badly dated and needs to be renovated or replaced."
"There's a wide range of sports and societies on offer and you have the chance to set something up easily if you feel there's something missing."
"There are lots of societies as well as opportunities to start your own."
"There are societies for every single taste that are really active and interesting. You can get amazing support from the uni and the SU. The great range of people are always friendly and helpful."
"Great sports teams with great facilities, especially in Headingley."
"Sports clubs are a great bonding activity here."
