About the institution
Harper Adams University is based on one campus just outside Newport in Shropshire. It was founded in 1901 and specialises in agricultural and land-based studies. Students gain hands-on experience through facilities such as the university’s own commercial farm and the Companion Animal House, which houses a range of small mammals and exotic species including chinchillas, guinea pigs, geckos and skinks. The majority of undergraduate courses include a 12-month placement in a commercial environment.
