Glasgow Caledonian University
Please comment on the support you’ve had from the careers services, the type of employers that present and recruit on campus, the effectiveness of the alumni network, as well as fairs and on-campus recruitment activity.
"The career services have been tremendously supportive, especially on how to write CVs and prepare for interviews. There are two ways that employers recruit or offer jobs to potential graduates. One is through on-campus based fairs while the other comes through the school via emails. The alumni network is growing by the day and serves as a source of inspiration and encouragement to look into the future with optimism."
"I have had amazing support from both my programme leader and the careers centre at the university. With their help I have managed to get myself a graduate job, commencing this year."
"I had a great meeting with the careers adviser about writing CVs."
"I have completed an industrial placement in America and feel very prepared for work due to this."
"I didn't really get much help or practical advice, though I do think they were trying."
"I had more support from lecturers connected to industry. The careers service wasn't much help to me."
"The careers service are very helpful, they have classes for students to attend about CVs and career choices etc."
"I believe the university could have had more of an impact on this with regular job expos and by promoting companies who seek the appropriate people for positions."
