Careers services

Please comment on the support you’ve had from the careers services, the type of employers that present and recruit on campus, the effectiveness of the alumni network, as well as fairs and on-campus recruitment activity.

"Careers are always there to talk to, and my personal tutor has been very good in writing me references for anything I've applied for. I am aiming for a career in research so I don't know anything about the employers who recruit on campus. The department normally hires a coach to take people to careers fairs if there is enough demand." Aberystwyth University
"Very good." Aberystwyth University
"The careers service provide drop in sessions every Thursday from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm and you can book longer periods with them over email. They are also always giving presentations on what's on offer by the university." Aberystwyth University
"Work experience was part of my modules." Aberystwyth University
"Loads of support from careers, really helpful. Unfortunately, it seems a lot of people do not make use of the service they provide." Aberystwyth University
"I feel there are enough career talks and employers visiting the university to advise students on prospective careers. I do feel there needs to be more participation with local and Welsh firms to provide work experience. If you want career service support you can get it but only if you sign up for it and I feel more awareness could be drawn to this." Aberystwyth University
"Support is really good but it is not handed to you. You need to go and seek it." Aberystwyth University
"The Aber Forward scheme was very good. Would love to work at the university." Aberystwyth University
"I'm only in my second year so as of yet I haven't received much support for post graduate jobs." Aberystwyth University
