About the role; 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to join the Veolia team based at our site in Norfolk

Development included – Level 3 Apprenticeship in Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician

Dimensions of the job

  • The Apprenticeship may include periods of learning and qualification away from your place of work and in your own time.  During the apprenticeship you will be required to complete assessments and practical tests to demonstrate your ability in relevant to the learning and practical experience gained 
  • There will be an expectation that you will apply knowledge gained during your periods of academic learning
  • You are to take responsibility for your personal development throughout the duration of your apprenticeship and beyond, enabling you to be equipped with the necessary skills and/or qualifications to carry out your duties.

Key responsibilities

Once qualified it will be expected that you can:

  • Assemble, install and dismantle mechanical and electrical equipment which will include pumps, valves, gearboxes, pipework, to agreed specifications
  • Carry out planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical and electrical equipment. 
  • Replace, repair and/or remove components in mechanical and electrical equipment and ensure its return to operational condition. 
  • Diagnose and determine the cause of faults in mechanical and electrical equipment.

Skills and Experience

  • IT literate. 
  • 3 GCSE’s at Grade C or above in Maths, English and Science
  • Commitment and drive to improve standards
  • You will need to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing 
  • You will be able to multi-task and prioritise
  • An interest in Mechanical and or Electrical Engineering
  • Driving License (Desirable)
