If you’d love to work in TV then come to Sky and we’ll give you 11 months’ paid experience before you head off to uni or start your next job.

Whether you’re a sports fanatic, a box set binge-watcher, filmmaker or simply can’t stop checking the news, there’s a placement here for you.

You’ll work with brilliant teams, gain industry skills, boost your confidence and make friends for life.

What are we looking for? 

We want students who love TV, are excited about the prospect of working in media, enjoy communicating, work brilliantly in a team and are natural problem solvers. As well as this, you should be good under pressure, love a challenge and want to gain experience that all your friends will envy.

Sky Sports 

Whether it's Premier League football, Test cricket, F1, Netball Superleague, The Ryder Cup or Majors golf, Sky Sports is the home of live sport. We aim to entertain and inform our viewers with our award winning and innovative coverage of live sport from around the world. 

Here you’ll experience getting a television programme to air; from being a studio runner, to watching and cataloguing key moments in live sporting events and contributing your creative ideas for how a finished programme should look. 

Sky Production Services

Love the thought of making great television? This team is dedicated to making Sky the best place in the industry to create and deliver content that people love. Making superb television that sets new industry standards: HD, 3D, 4K interactivity, steady-cam and super slo-mo are all innovations that we pioneered. 

You’ll get to work in client services , editing, camera, sound, studios and more – giving you a full experience in the production of TV.

Entertainment 

Whether it’s star-studded comedies, the latest US shows, the best home-grown dramas, movie premieres or top-quality arts and culture programmes, our Entertainment department’s at the heart of them all. They decide what we air, when we air it, how much we pay for it and whether the script’s up to scratch, all to ensure we deliver award-winning television!

You’ll find yourself working in scheduling, promotional strategy, presentation, editorial, compliance, commissioning and acquisitions.

Sky News 

Winner of RTS News Channel of the Year nine times, Sky News offer an unrivalled, world class breaking news service on TV and mobile reaching over 107 million homes across 118 countries around the world. 

Starting as a runner within our state-of-the-art news centre you’ll gain experience across all functions of Sky News – News Gathering, Operations, TV Production, Sky News Radio and Online. 

Sky Creative

In Sky Creative, our design, promotion and advertising teams bring original and award-winning entertainment to life on screen and behind the scenes.You’ll work across many areas, from

programme graphics, set design, on-air promotion, channel and corporate branding, to sponsorship credits, pre and post-production visual effects.

Application Process 

If you are successful in your application you will be invited to a 30 minute phone interview in February. The next application step will be attending an assessment day which will take place in March and will involve a group exercise, interview and a tour of the Sky site.

Apply between 6th November 2017 – 7th January 2018
