Skanska

Apprentice Programme 2017 – Administrator

Skanska, a leading construction company and developer, is an inclusive and responsible business that is helping to build a better society. Known for major projects like the Gherkin and Crossrail, we are creating, upgrading and maintaining the country’s buildings and infrastructure. Drawing on our Scandinavian heritage, we are green, innovative and progressive. We bring together people and technology, helping to make our industry safer and more collaborative.

Joining us as an apprentice Administrator in the Somerset Vehicle Workshops, you will take responsibility for various administrative duties, including raising sales invoices for Somerset County Council and all other clients, processing and filing of fitters’ timesheets and compiling financial reports for month end. We are looking for an individual able to learn quickly with excellent communication skills, good overall computer literacy and attention to detail.

You will be supported to achieve an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration through a local college. For this, you will be required to hold 3 GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (or equivalent A* to C), including Maths and English. Although no experience is required, you will have a desire to learn and will want to help shape the future and build for a better society. The role is in a fast-paced, customer-orientated environment so being self-motivated and the ability to work well under pressure are key skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to care for people and the environment, to be accountable for future generations, and to not only foster an inclusive culture where we are open and fair, showing trust and respect for one another, but also one where everyone can speak their mind. Are you ready to build for a better society?

Programme start date: September 2017

Location: Taunton, Somerset

The deadline for applications is Friday 28th April and an assessment centre will be held in June or July.

We would like you to perform at your best at every stage of our recruitment process. Please contact us if you require any adjustments that would support you throughout your application.

We thrive through embracing differences, whether they be social backgrounds, ethnicity, disability, gender, age, religion, sexuality and any other protected characteristic – we know that diversity opens a rich potential for new ways of thinking, helping us to build successful and winning teams. We call it Naturally Skanska.
