We are hiring up to four apprentices to join our thriving Bristol office in Autumn 2019 and complete a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship, accredited by CILEx (The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) and delivered through The University of Law in conjunction with Damar training. Over the course of the two-year programme, you’ll draw upon your own ambitious and enthusiastic personality to develop your skills, learn new ones and grow your legal knowledge. You'll get involved in a range of tasks in support of our lawyers, and have the opportunity on qualification to begin the solicitor apprenticeship programme with us.

We work across a range of business sectors and practices, including insurance, commercial litigation, construction, engineering and projects, corporate/M&A, IP and technology, retail, commercial contracts, media, real estate, employment and pensions, outsourcing, regulatory, tax, international trade and competition.
As an apprentice paralegal, you will get exposure to a wide range of legal work. You’ll spend 20% of your time on off-the-job learning which equates to one day each week to study. Working with our chosen provider The University of Law (ULaw) and Damar Training, who are located in the same building as our Bristol RPC offices, we will incorporate any bespoke aspects of learning that we feel appropriate to your training and future success at RPC.
Alongside your formal study with the University of Law, you will support practice areas across RPC, covering both litigation and transactional matters. Typically, you will handle:
- File opening and closure (including dealing with outstanding financial matters and sending files to storage)
- Running Know Your Client, money laundering and conflict checks for team members' claims and professional indemnity matters
- Updating case management systems
- Document review exercises
- Drafting invoices
- General admin duties such as:
- printing and photocopying of documents
- preparing letters
- producing correspondence and reports
- preparing files and bundles
- attending meetings and producing attendance notes
- Capturing and collating required Management Information — for performance management, client reporting, service level agreements (SLAs), pricing and other purposes
- GCSE Maths and English: A-C
- A Levels: ABB (obtained or predicted)
