Lloyd’s of London

Apprenticeship Programme

About Lloyd’s

Exploring space. Launching new robotic technology. Hosting huge international sporting events. None of this would be possible without the cover Lloyd’s provides. As the global leaders in specialist insurance, we cover new and complex risks around the world – and beyond – from driverless cars and cyber crime, to space tourism.

The Apprenticeship Programme

This 13-month programme is designed to give ambitious school leavers a head start in the fascinating world of specialist insurance. It’s one of the foremost training schemes in the industry, and is the first apprenticeship programme to be accredited by the Chartered Insurance Institute.

What you’ll do

On the programme, you’ll complete two immersive placements, which could be in the broking community, with a managing agent or within the Lloyd’s Corporation itself. On these placements, you’ll build up invaluable knowledge and experience of underwriting, claims handling and insurance broking. You’ll also gain a comprehensive understanding of our organisation as a whole.

Throughout the apprenticeship, we’ll review your knowledge and skills to ensure you’re making good progress. By the end of programme, you’ll have gained not only an apprentice qualification as a Level 3 Insurance Practioner, but also an internationally recognised professional qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for bright, ambitious A-Level students (or equivalent) with a genuine interest in Lloyd’s and the insurance industry. You’ll also need a grade C in GCSE Maths and English.
