Laing O’Rourke is a multidisciplinary design, manufacturing, engineering and construction group, which is behind some of the world’s most iconic structures. The combined expertise of our in-house delivery businesses allows us to tackle some of the largest and most complex projects. We are looking for service leavers from engineering-related and trades backgrounds, as well as individuals with leadership and project management experience to join us.
The role will involve installing and maintaining temporary electrical services to our project buildings and site cabins to allow the construction process to be carried out.
As a Laing O’Rourke apprentice you will work through a structured programme that will take between two and four years depending on your apprenticeship choice. The programme will combine practical onsite experience, academic learning at college and a series of bespoke personal development modules.
As part of the Apprenticeship+ programme, you will be expected to achieve an NVQ 2 or 3, plus a technical certificate in your chosen discipline. You will attend college on either a block or day release format, depending on the college you are assigned to.
Your apprenticeship journey will be supported by experienced tradespeople and construction professionals, with a dedicated mentor and apprentice officer that will work closely with you, providing regular feedback on your progress towards completing your apprenticeship.
You will work as part of a small team, responsible for installing and maintaining temporary electrical services to our project buildings and site cabins. This role is essential to the smooth-running of construction activities. You will be involved in the initial set-up of site facilities and equipment – as well as ongoing testing and repairs. The role will occasionally involve travelling from project to project to ensure other project services are in good working order so you must be prepared to travel as and when required.
