School Leaver Programme - Audit
We are the leading accountancy and business advisory firm, aimed at mid-market businesses. In the UK, we operate from 18 offices across the country, employing 3,500 people offering Tax, Audit and Assurance, and a wide range of Consulting and Advisory services. We have exciting opportunities for School Leavers to help us deliver exceptional client service in each of these streams.
We give School Leavers all the training they need to attain a professional qualification, with extensive practical experience that includes on-site client work. We provide constant support to make sure trainees are never out of their depth. We empower our people to make sure they achieve their full potential.
As auditors, we look to see if the client’s statements about their financial position are true, fair and accurate. We work closely with their finance team and other key people to get to know their business well and understand the risks they face. Then we can identify any weaknesses in their financial statements, business systems or culture, and so advise them on suitable solutions. You get to work on a range of different organisations, with each day bringing new challenges.
Audit contains many different streams and, if successful, you could be working in one of the below areas amongst others:
- Real Estate
- Public Sector Assurance
- Professional Services
- Not for Profit
- Consumer Markets
- Energy Mining Industry
- Technology Media
- Public Sector – Internal Audit
- Risk and Advisory Services – Internal Audit
As a Trainee Auditor you will study towards an appropriate qualification starting with your CFAB qualification and moving on to complete your ACA (from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) or the CA (from ICAS) in Scotland. There may well be other qualifications you can obtain along the way. We provide mentoring and on-the-job coaching as well as plenty of time for you to study and prepare for your exams, and we aim to get you through your exams and qualified within five years.
At BDO we offer our trainees a highly competitive starting salary and we’ll pay your tuition and all your professional exam fees, as well as bonuses for passing your exams during your training period. You will also be eligible to choose from a range of fixed and flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, from buying extra holiday to season ticket loans and discounted gym membership.
