Planner Apprenticeship - Rail - 2017

We are looking for a Planner Apprentice to join the team within our Rail business in Hither Green - London. This role with give you the opportunity to work for a market leading company, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience to ensure you develop to your full potential throughout the apprenticeship.

What you'll be doing

The role will be busy and interactive, supported by the Planning Team; you will provide administration assistance in all aspects of the Rail Plant business as required in line with company policies and procedures.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare all statutory documentation for all operators on a weekly basis: Work Plans, Rosters, running’s
  • Ensure all administration is clear concise and maintained for auditing purposes.
  • To provide assistance in all aspects of short-term planning function to ensure shift delivery as per customer’s requirements.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of the standards and policies set down by the Company.
  • To be aware of safety issues (i.e. fatigue) affecting the operators and to report any risk to your line Manager.
  • Ensure regular communication with your line Manager.
  • Ensure all administration is clear concise and maintained for auditing purposes.
  • To ensure compliance with the Company’s Policies and Procedures on Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental.

Who we're looking for

  • 3 GCSEs A*-C in Maths and English or equivalent grades
  • A keen interest in IT and enjoy problem solving 
  • Able to complete all business documentation fully and filed accordingly, and that reporting deadlines are adhered to
  • To be able to work with Word, Excel and other MS applications. 
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • To be able to communicate with a range of different people 
  • To understand the importance of Health & Safety and how it fits into your role and the wider business. 
  • Undertake personal training and development as required in order to build own skills, knowledge and competence.
  • You will have a have a friendly, flexible approach to your working day and a willingness to work with and support colleagues
