On the face of it, Aldi is a quirky, down-to-earth supermarket, providing its customers with great quality at discount prices. With a simple goal of providing value and quality, using leaner and smarter business processes, we’re a supermarket that’s getting it right. We’re winning all kinds of awards and new stores are springing up all over the UK and Ireland (currently one every week) as we rapidly increase our market share.
At Aldi, we know what it takes to be award winning. To be one on the UK’s fastest growing retailers. It all comes down to our grab-life-by-the-trolley-handles attitude. We’re not afraid of a good challenge, and understand the importance of trust. That’s why our apprentices go on to be so successful. You’ll have real responsibility very early on, and we’re not just saying that.
With a mix of hands-on, practical work and theory, the programmes teach you the ins and outs of our business, and put you on the right road to success. So while uni may have a certain allure, an apprenticeship with us will see you learn from the very best, with all the extra Aldi trimmings. Great pay? Sorted. Qualifications? Done. Not to mention the personal growth, and feeling of achievement at the end of your programme.
Speaking of which, let’s tell you a bit more about each Apprenticeship Programme.
Management is this programme’s aim. You’ll be given a competitive salary (starting at £5.52 per hour rising to £8.02 in year three), and a truly supportive environment. Throughout the programme, you’ll also have to complete theory work to achieve your Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Retail Management. By the end, you’ll have built up the knowledge, skills and know-how to become a Deputy Store Manager. And if you’ve really excelled, you might even be offered the chance to become an Assistant Store Manager.
On the Logistics Programme, you’ll work your way to a Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Warehousing and Storage. We’ll give you a competitive salary (starting at £5.52 per hour rising to £8.02 in year three) and a supportive environment surrounded by like-minded people. If all goes well, you’ll finish the programme with a big graduation, before starting your role as a permanent member of your team. And if you’ve really excelled, you might even be offered the chance to join the Aldi Logistics Management team.
On the Drivers Programme, you’ll earn £9.91 per hour while spending a year working towards an LGV Category C + E licence. Formally known as the HGV Class 1 licence, it essentially means you can drive a vehicle over 3,500kg that has a trailer over 750kg. (Which is a lot of brilliant Specialbuys.) If all goes well, you’ll finish the year with a Level 2 Intermediate Driving Goods Vehicles qualification and be offered a permanent role at Aldi. Not bad for 12 months.
So yes, it’s hard work. But if you’ve got the ambition, commitment and dedication – we’ll help you to achieve a blossoming, long-term career with us.
