Joining an Airbus Apprenticeship programme could be the ideal start to your career, just as it has been for many of our Senior Managers today. We consider our apprentices to be ideally qualified, with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to enable them to make an immediate contribution when they enter the workforce.
An Airbus Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain qualifications with no fees, whilst acquiring new skills through vocational training, and a regular salary.
Within Customer Services, In-Service Support are responsible for any Airbus aircraft across the whole fleet; to support both current production aircraft and an ageing fleet. Spares Engineering Apprentices will provide technical support to both suppliers and internal Customer Services colleagues.
As a Spares Engineering Apprentice working in Customer Services at Airbus you will gain a Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering Technical Support, on completion of our 40 month programme. Spares Engineering Apprentices study at City of Bristol College to achieve their qualifications, and their industry based work takes place at our world leading aircraft manufacturer site in Filton, Bristol.
Your first year on the Spares Engineering Apprenticeship programme will be spent completing the Level 2 Foundation course in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. You will then go on to develop your skill and technical knowledge through a combination of college study and on the job work and training.
Alongside your studies you can expect to undertake a number of work placements at Airbus within the following areas of Customer Services:
- Systems and structural maintenance - Service bulletin for modifications - Ground support tooling - Technical data - Spares engineering
In addition to your work placements and studies, apprentices will have a number of valuable training opportunities covering a variety of subjects (e.g. quality, supply chain, repair solutions, design) as well as ad-hoc project work from a variety of sources worldwide.
Part of the future role of a Spares Engineering Apprentice will involve working with suppliers to establish an understanding of capability and manufacturing capacity, and become familiar with the variety of manufacturing techniques.
In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship candidate must have a minimum of:
- Six GCSEs at Grade C or 4, which must include Maths, English Language and Science (core and additional, or physics if taken as separate subjects)
