An overview of BT's business

BT Sport

We're shaking up the market and we're returning sport to grassroots fans. Our revolutionary sports channels are already bringing excitement to over 5 million UK homes. BT Sport is changing the game - from offering Barclays Premier League football for free, to broadcasting thrilling Champions League matches and building the biggest sports studios in Europe.

BT TV

Available through state of the art YouView and other set top boxes, our package includes over 100 channels, plus catch-up TV and the nation’s largest on-demand library.

Fibre

We’re well on the way to bringing superfast fibre optic broadband to more than 90% of UK homes. Customer demand for faster broadband is still growing; that’s why expansion is at the heart of our plans. We’ve invested £700m just to reach under-served rural areas as we know this is really important for our customers. Openreach provides the vital infrastructure that is the foundation of the UK’s vibrant internet economy.

Mobile

We’ve built the UK’s largest superfast fixed network, which we’ll combine with the UK’s best mobile network to offer more innovative services. EE has the biggest 4G mobile network in the UK. It delivers mobile and fixed communications services to consumers, businesses, government and the wholesale market. EE has around 550 retail stores and serves more than 31 million customers across its mobile, fixed and wholesale businesses.

BT business and global services

We’re a leading global business communications provider. We help around 6,200 corporate and public-sector customers across 180 countries embrace the digital age, innovate and work more efficiently. And we’re passionate about helping businesses, big and small, use the power of technology and communications to grow, compete and thrive. In the UK and Ireland, we play an important role across the public and private sector – from managing the 999 service, to running a large fleet of vehicles via BT Fleet. Outside of the UK and Ireland, Global Services serve 87% of the FTSE100 companies with around 7,000 clients in more than 170 countries. We regularly launch new innovative services to meet our customers’ needs. This year alone, we have provided new products that will enable governments around the world to identify and react to dangerous security threats.
